Sue May specializes in conducting searches for leadership, academic, and managerial positions within higher education, with additional experience finding leaders for select non-profit institutions, think tanks, and independent schools.
Before joining Storbeck/Pimentel, Sue worked for higher education strategy consulting firm Art & Science Group, LLC. She managed year-long client engagements with more than 25 institutions across the country, ranging from small women’s colleges to large research universities. She regularly presented to faculty bodies and governing boards, and provided confidential counsel to college and university leadership.
A frequent author and speaker on alternative careers for graduate students, Sue first published So What Are You Going to Do With That?: Finding Careers Outside Academia with Farrar, Strauss & Giroux in 2001, and later in a revised edition with University of Chicago Press in 2007. Sue has published 18+ articles in the Chronicle of Higher Education’s “Beyond the Ivory Tower” column and given more than 35 invited lectures and workshops at universities across the nation.
