Our consultants at Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates knew higher education inside and out. They brought extensive networks to bear on our search, and expanding that network throughout our search. They consistently treated the search committee, the Board and the candidates with great respect and were brutally honest with us when it was required. They invested a significant amount of time getting to know Millikin University and our needs, and with that knowledge, were able to effectively identify the right candidates for us. They impressed us with the quality of the pool which they developed, a candidate pool which was diverse and highly accomplished.

Their in-depth knowledge of the best practices of presidential searches ensured that our search reflected the highest level of integrity and transparency for both the candidates and the community, yet at every stage of the search, I felt it was our search. They quietly guided us to where we needed to be, but did not dominate the process at all. When we had questions they would quickly respond with the expertise I thought we needed. At times when I felt we might start to bog down, loose focus, or get off on a tangent they would step in and help to bring us back to our task.

Although it may seem elementary, they helped us create a workable search schedule which allowed for effective review and selection of candidates, but also represented our need for a timely completion of the search. While not the largest of groups, our committee consisted of 15 busy people spread across the country, all of whom had demands on their respective calendars. The search team managed to get us going quickly and work with us to craft a schedule which worked for us all. Once we had a schedule, the process moved along swiftly, with Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates helping us to define the parameters of the search. Their responsiveness was such that we were not frustrated waiting on our consultant to do their part.

We were very happy with our experience with Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates, and while we hope that we will not need to conduct another presidential search any time soon, they are on the top of our list of firms to turn to in the future.
